NEW YORK, (April 06, 2006) – The National Interfaith Cable Coalition, Inc. (NICC), doing business as Faith & Values Media, today announced that its Board of Trustees voted to open its membership to groups and individuals from the Islamic tradition. Previously, membership had been limited to groups and individuals related to the Jewish or Christian traditions. Inner-Attainment TV, Inc., headquartered in Annandale, Virginia, was welcomed as its first member from the Islamic tradition.

The vote was a culmination of a year-long study among the NICC Board of Trustees and the Faith & Values Media Member Council.

“One of Faith & Values Media’s goals is to expand understanding and cooperation between and among the faith groups within the American experience,” said Dr. Daniel P. Matthews, NICC Board Chairman. “While we are not of one theology,” Dr. Matthews continued, “we worship one God. Our organization exists to share God’s word and presence in our lives through television, the internet, and other media.”

The Faith & Values Media Association is made up of denominations, organizations and individuals that encompass the Abrahamic tradition in the United States. Faith & Values Media provides its members with access to a national audience through various outlets, including Hallmark Channel, one of the country’s most watched cable channels, and FaithStreams.com, an award-winning Internet site.

“This is a milestone in Faith & Values Media’s history,” said Edward J. Murray, President and CEO, Faith & Values Media. “I am pleased our Board voted to open membership to groups within the Islamic tradition. This is the right place for Faith & Values Media to be in the 21st century.”

Inner-Attainment Television, Inc. (IAT) is an organization that specializes in creating television and video programs that educate, enlighten, and entertain people about Islam and Muslims, particularly Muslims living in North and South America.
